Role Summary

The Inventory & Cost Analytics Manager bridges the gap between raw warehouse activity and leadership-ready business intelligence. This role is responsible for the strategic lifecycle management of spare parts and equipment inventory, while maintaining operational data integrity and building advanced reporting workflows. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels at cross-system reconciliations, cost optimization, and process improvement with minimal oversight.

Additional Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Parts & Materials Management: Direct daily parts department operations, including sourcing, receiving, stocking, and auditing. Maintain Min/Max reorder points and critical parts lists to minimize downtime. Oversee vendor relations, warranty tracking, parts returns, and core management.
  • Inventory Control & Reconciliations: Enforce cycle-counting and bi-annual physical audits. Execute routine cross-system reconciliations, audit inventory variances, identify root causes, and optimize warehouse layout and labeling.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting Workflows: Maintain database integrity across systems. Design and manage advanced reporting workflows, operational dashboards, and KPIs (e.g., inventory turnover, shrinkage, spend variance) to support MME teams.
  • Cost Optimization & Financial Analysis: Analyze purchase orders and spend trends to drive cost savings. Perform total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis for review with management.

Core Competencies

  • Data Integrity & Analytics: Skilled in managing complex data sets, cross-system reconciliations, and reporting tools.
  • Operational Execution: Strong judgment in balancing inventory costs with equipment availability and uptime.
  • Process Improvement: Focused on standardized workflows, Lean/5S principles, and inventory accuracy.
  • Independent Leadership: Self-directed, highly organized, and capable of driving results with minimal supervision.

Function Specific Skills

  • Microsoft Tools: Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas), MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Google Workspace / Office Suite: Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive for collaborative documentation and analysis.
  • ERP / CMMS: Hands-on experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Maximo.
  • Business Intelligence: Tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred).

Physical & Workplace Demands

  • Frequent Lifting (Frequently Handled): 10 to 35 pounds.
  • Occasional Heavy Lifting (Unassisted): 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Team Lift or Mechanical Aid Required: 75 to 100+ pounds.
  • Mechanical Aids: Standard use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move items past the threshold of safe manual lifting.
  • Other Physical Actions: Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, and standing or walking for over 60% of the shift.

Required Minimum Years Experience

  • Experience: 3–5+ years in parts management, inventory control, maintenance procurement, or operational data analytics.

Required Minimum Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Data Analytics, Business, or related field preferred.
