Pricing Analyst

This is a hybrid role requiring work from office 3 days a week, as alloted by the team.

Pricing Analyst, Transpacific East Bound

This role reports to Regional Marketing Manager Transpacific East Bound (TPEB).  Evaluates data, analyzes, problem solves, makes recommendations for and in front-line execution of TPEB marketing and yield management strategies through pricing activity, regional TPEB target monitoring, customer performance evaluation, and service contract maintenance.   Applies knowledge, good judgment, and decision-making, anticipates, clarifies, understands, defines, makes recommendations, and implements with positive results.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and maintain ONE TPEB BCO service contracts

  • Assist in administration of guideline rates in coordination with NA Marketing Management

  • Produce, maintain and analyze departmental reports and statistics

  • Monitor and act to eliminate negative margin cargo

  • Monitor, measure, and take corrective action for the assigned region’s account performance; this requires communication of corrective action to the NA regional sales staff when necessary, including monitoring and proactively addressing poor customer results

  • Direct regional sales teams in creation and execution of promotional cargo opportunities to meet business plan

  • Address BL rating issues with relevant documentation teams in North America and Asia

  • Assist customer service, documentation, and operations teams for interpretation of tariffs and service contracts/rate agreements

  • Operational support and facilitation; provide support and assistance for service recovery evaluation and approval, perform exception management to established SOPs

  • Assist in route cost analysis and alternate route analysis to minimize cost and maximize vessel utilization

Function Specific Skills

  • Applies logical methods utilizing analytical skills and experience for best-suited approach; able to resolve complex issues

  • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of internal management, staff, and outside vendors

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, while remaining detail-oriented

  • Proficiency in MS applications Excel and Word

  • Advanced knowledge of pivot tables, and formulas in MS Excel

  • Ability to adapt to Google Apps, including AppScript

  • Active user or demonstrate an understanding of Gemini and NotebookLM

  • Strong business acumen

Required Minimum Years Experience

2+ Container Shipping industry experience required and 2+ Trade or Pricing Analyst experience required

Required Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

ONE NA follows a hybrid work schedule requiring employees to work 3 days in the office (i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote each week.
