Senior Manager, Planning - Refrigerated Cargo
Location
This hybrid role is based in our Richmond, VA office. In-office work days are Tuesday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on Monday and Friday.
Role Summary
The purpose of this position is to coordinate overall long-term planning and operations under the US and Canada export refrigerated cargo business scope. Support commercial activity and assist with streamlining processes in the TPWB, TAEB, and Latin America Trades. In liaison with management, this function is required to support and help develop marketing strategy for refrigerated business with defined performance metrics. This position will be responsible for detailed analysis relating to cost, market evaluation, and asset utilization on a consistent basis in order to help develop marketing strategy, identify problems and corrective actions, and ensure marketing program success with multiple stakeholders internally and externally. Maximum use of refrigerated equipment (containers, gensets, PPUs, etc.) is one of the critical tasks, in coordination with the Container Flow Management and Operations teams. Support cost-saving initiatives where commercially feasible to reduce downstream impact to ONE bottom line. This position reports to Director, NA Reefer Marketing.

Perform as a day-to-day departmental leader with ability to anticipate challenges, risks, and identify opportunities

Monitor vessel and account performance, account segment performance, and trade/commodity lane focus areas to meet target KPIs that allow overall ONE business plan achievement

Support reefer pricing manager with analysis of market data to establish minimum rate guidelines.

Participate in supervising weekly equipment control and marketing improvement opportunities with GHQ and regional teams as necessary on a cross-functional basis.

Recommend solutions and cost comparisons for delay in transit and re-routing cargo

Direct Refrigerated Cargo Management teams for booking action and direction as needed

Maintain and update refrigerated cargo booking constraints in accordance with operational capabilities or restrictions

Through close monitoring and analysis, identify issues with account performance and work with pricing management to develop corrective action that can be communicated to sales.

Act in coordination with the Director to perform product and market evaluation analysis

Manage, develop, and hold accountable Planning Analysts by offering coaching, training, and mentoring.

Communicate necessary information with internal stakeholders as appropriate

Ability to implement tactical marketing and sales plans consistent with national and global goals

Perform analysis on feeder routes to develop and promote most efficient and cost-effective strategies.

Monitor weekly vessel service performance and evaluate/recommend contingency plans when necessary for global trade, along with regional network planning.

Work with pricing management to identify promotional cargo opportunities to meet business KPI metrics.

Provide Container Flow and Reefer Operation teams with accurate forecasting, both on a short and long-term basis, to manage EQ supply and flow.

Ability to work in a collaborative, consensual environment with cross-functional department managers for purpose of improving profitability and service levels, driving efficiency

Available for possible travel domestically as required.

Required Minimum Education
